New Hire, Old Problem: Where Do You Get a Good Profile Photo Fast?
July 2, 2026
The logic goes like this: a proper employee photo needs a studio, a tripod, and a free afternoon. So everyone waits. Until enough new starters have accumulated for a group session, until the photographer has a slot, until everyone happens to be in the office on the same day. With three part-time schedules and a field sales rep in the mix, that day never comes.
Meanwhile, the new person shows up on the company website as a grey placeholder. On LinkedIn, they're smiling in a photo from last summer's holiday. A client Googles their name and finds nothing useful.
The missing studio isn't the problem. The problem is assuming you need one.
Why the photo shoot was never the bottleneck
Someone starts on Monday. By Tuesday they have a company email, a laptop, and access to the time-tracking tool. Everything digital, everything done in minutes. But their face on the website is still missing weeks later, because it's tied to a physical appointment.
That's exactly where the thinking goes wrong. A phone photo is plenty to work with. Not the selfie itself ends up on the website, but what it becomes: a portrait in the same style as the rest of the team, same attire, same background. Stairwell lighting transformed into a clean studio result.
With snaptosuit, it works through an invitation link. The new person receives the link, takes a selfie on their phone, and uploads it. Done. No appointment, no waiting for others.
What the process looks like on day one
Add the person to the directory, either manually or via a CSV import of the new intake. Then send them the tokenised selfie link. Once the image arrives, select the right look, or use a brand preset that locks in the company style once and applies it every time after that.
The preset is the real advantage. Defined once, employee number 30 looks consistent with employee number 1 from the previous year. No visual break in the team, no matter how fast the company grows.
One portrait costs one credit. Teams hiring steadily will find the Solo plan at CHF 5 per month with three credits works well. Larger teams can move to Starter, which offers 25 credits for CHF 29. When a busy month brings more new faces than expected, top up with a credit pack: 50 credits for CHF 59.
The finished image lands in the portfolio, gets set as the primary photo, and can be downloaded or shared as a gallery. Because the images are stored in Switzerland and nothing is automatically deleted, the portrait is still right there two years later when a new brochure needs updating.
By day three, the new person is on the website. Not in week three. A good profile photo was never a question of having a studio. It was always just a question of whether you wait for an appointment or simply get on with it.
