Print, high resolution and 4K

1 min read

Not every portrait ends up only on a screen. Sometimes it is meant to be printed, for a brochure, a business card, a trade fair wall or a framed picture at reception. For such cases snaptosuit offers the option to create a higher resolution version. Knowing when you need it saves you credits and at the same time ensures clean results.

For all digital purposes the normal download quality is perfectly sufficient. On LinkedIn, your website, the intranet or in a presentation on screen an image is shown scaled down anyway, so a higher resolution brings no visible advantage there. Here you simply download the portrait and you are done.

When 4K is worth it

Print is different. On paper or large surfaces too few pixels stand out immediately, the image then looks blurry or pixelated. That is exactly what you create a 4K version for, which stays sharp and detailed even at large size. For this higher resolution a little extra credit applies, which you see before confirming each time. As a rule of thumb: as soon as a portrait is printed, the high-resolution variant is worth it.

If you want to adjust something before printing, the framing or brightness for example, you do that comfortably beforehand in the built in editor. That way you go in one flow from selection through fine-tuning to the print-ready file, without needing an extra program.
