Using portraits well: LinkedIn, website and team directory

2 min read

A professional portrait only shows its value where people see you. The good news is: the portraits belong to you and you use them completely freely. There is no usage limit, no hidden conditions. You can use the same image on LinkedIn, on your website, in a CV, on business cards or in your email signature. Still, it is worth a quick look at what works particularly well on which channel.

On LinkedIn the first impression matters most. Your profile picture is often the first thing a potential client, applicant or business partner sees of you. A clear, friendly portrait with a calm background works best here. Because LinkedIn crops the image into a circle, you should choose a framing where your face sits centered and not too close to the edge.

Website and team directory

On your own website and in the team directory it is less about the single image and more about the interplay. Here the consistency that snaptosuit enables pays off. When all portraits have the same background, the same framing and the same style, the whole page looks calm and professional. It is best to download the whole team at once as a ZIP so you have a complete, consistent set you can embed directly.

The same applies to proposals, presentations and brochures. A consistent team image signals care and reliability before anyone has read a word. For distributed or fully remote teams in particular, it replaces the shared office as a visible sign of belonging.

Formats, resolution and print

For most digital purposes the normal download quality is perfectly sufficient. If you want to print a portrait, for a brochure, a trade fair wall or a framed picture, you first create a higher resolution 4K version. That keeps the image sharp even at large size. Small adjustments such as brightness, color or a tighter crop you make comfortably beforehand in the built in editor, with no extra program.
